I’ve been knitting for years, but have never purchased a kit, that is the pattern and yarn together. I recently purchased the Drachenfels scarf kit from Craftsy. The day it arrived, I had all I needed for a project. That felt pretty good. I was surprised that the colors weren’t the muted purple, and blue that I expected, but I decided not to quibble over it. The process of the knitting itself would meet my needs. So I began.
It’s a very easy pattern. All garter stitch. So easy, I lost focus and didn’t always increase on the right rows, I just fudged it. and I didn’t always stick the the right count on the color changes. But that didn’t matter. I still was very happy with the results: a large, warm scarf.
It seems too bulky for me to wear wrapped just around my neck. I wear to it warm my body. I wrap it with the “v” in the back, crossed in front, and then tied at my lower back. Perfect to keep my warm while sitting at my desk typing.
Overall, I’m pleased with my first Craftsy purchase. A reasonable priced project that I didn’t have to think to hard about in choosing pattern, yarn, yardage, etc.
